Proper Beans, Zingology, Killer Tomato, Sweet Pea Pantry, Sweet Virtue, Dukes of Delhi, Not Dogs, BKD London were the eight start-ups taking part at this years Virgin Foodpreneur Fest 2014. All eight finalists faced a public vote on Twitter as well, to decide who would take home the People’s Choice Award of £1,000 cash towards their business. Proper Beans received the most votes in this category.
The judging panel at Virgin Foodpreneur Fest, which was made up of founder of Ella’s Kitchen Paul Lindley, acting editor of Guardian Cook magazine Mina Holland, recipe bloggers and authors Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley, and Richard Branson, offered their advice on running a business.
TV chef Michela Chiappa, who was presenting, also gave her view on starting a food company, noting that it’s more than just a business. “For our family food isn’t a choice – it’s a lifestyle, something we’re passionate about,” she said.
Zingology were extremely proud to take part in the Virgin Foodpreneur Fest and we met some amazing people and new and exciting brands, hopefully some of which we will be working with in the future… so watch this space.
