Simply spread the pesto on a home-made or shop bought base and then add your favourite toppings.
You can also use the beetroot pesto in pitta bread pockets filled with salad, goats cheese or halloumi.
1 teaspoon beetroot powder
1-2 tsp tamari (or soy sauce)
fresh basil & parsley
salt & pepper to taste
1 tsp sambal oelek (optional)Raw chili paste, a staple in Malaysian and Thai cooking
a handful of nuts (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
Use on Pizza bases or as a spread in pitta pocket with halloumi and fresh green salad.
